Aichi Sky Expo is a venue that encapsulates a diverse range of sustainable ideas.

CASBEE (Comprehensive Assessment System for Built Environment Efficiency) is an evaluation and rating system for the environmental performance of buildings, and S rank is the highest rating in the system.
ZEB stands for Net Zero Energy Building, and refers to a building that significantly reduces annual primary energy consumption compared to a building of the same size and standard facility specifications by using high-efficiency equipment and other energy-saving measures while maintaining a comfortable indoor environment. Aichi Sky Expo has acquired ZEB Ready certification, which is given to buildings that reduce annual primary energy consumption by 50% or more.
In addition, a tree-supporting wall greening system called “Vertical Forest®” is installed at the entrance eaves to visualize the environmental design.

Aichi Prefecture makes many unique products. The entrance hall and mall of Aichi Sky Expo are decorated with products made in Aichi, including Aichi Certified Wood, Obara Washi paper, bricks from Seto, and porcelain tiles made in Tokoname.
Aichi Sky Expo considers local issues from social, economic, and environmental perspectives with the aim of regional development. We utilize the features of the exhibition center as a “hub of information” to promote solutions to these issues together with local communities, creating a means for growth.

Projects that Collaborate with the Community and Contribute to Society
MADE IN AICHI — Strengths of Tokoname, Strengths of Aichi

Agriculture
By actively incorporating locally grown vegetables, rice, and sausages into dishes served at the food court, we showcase the brand of local produce.

Manufacturing
By acting as a go-between for organizers and local manufacturers, we create opportunities through events to deepen awareness and understanding of local industry.

Commerce
By proactively hiring local companies as subcontractors, we provide event organizers with opportunities to discover the services offered by businesses in the region.
Main Examples of Utilizing Local Industries

100% Clean Energy
Recognizing that exhibition venues are among the largest consumers of electricity, we have transitioned to clean energy for facility operations. Part of our power comes from solar generation (with surplus electricity sold), and our main supply is “Aichi Green Electricity.” By using locally sourced clean energy, we not only reduce the CO₂ emissions of our venue but also promote the local production and consumption of renewable energy and further local economic circulation in collaboration with regional businesses.

Creating an Eco-Friendly Event Environment
At Aichi Sky Expo, we propose carbon-offset event hosting to our organizers, and we disclose the venue’s energy consumption data necessary for calculating CO₂ emissions. This initiative enables the entire events industry to remain sustainable by facilitating “net zero carbon events” that effectively eliminate greenhouse gas emissions. By sharing energy usage, we provide an environment where it is possible to host events with minimal environmental impact.

Consideration for Surrounding Areas
Surrounded by the sea, Aichi Sky Expo places particular emphasis on marine pollution prevention. Our cleaning practices minimize the use of surfactants that are slow to decompose in rivers and oceans, focusing instead on alkaline ionized water that does not contain chemicals or environmental pollutants. In addition, we conduct regular cleanup activities in the surrounding area to prevent trash from outdoor events from entering the bay.
